Terms of use

Last updated .

These terms apply when you use myrecordreview.com. Today the site offers free guides and a waitlist. The records check isn't open yet: the sections about it describe how it will work, and before you upload anything or pay, you'll see the terms that apply to it.

Who we are

MyRecordReview ("we") runs this site. Independent service. Not affiliated with or endorsed by DoD, the Air Force, DFAS or the VA. To reach us, write to hello@myrecordreview.com.

General information, not advice

The guides, the example report and the records check are general information about published rules: the statute, DoD regulations and Air Force publications. They aren't legal, financial or tax advice, and using them doesn't create an attorney-client or adviser relationship. The disclaimer covers estimates, examples and scope.

Using the site

  • You may read, print and share the guides, with a link back to the page you're quoting.
  • Don't misuse the site: no attempts to break, overload or get around its security, and no signing other people up for the waitlist.
  • The laws and regulations we quote are public. Our own writing, page design, logo and example reports belong to MyRecordReview.

The waitlist

Joining is free and commits you to nothing. We'll write when the pilot opens and, now and then, when a new guide is published. You can leave at any time; the privacy page says what we keep and how to leave.

The records check (not open yet)

When it opens, the records check will compare the records you download yourself, such as your points statement, your Record Review, the DMDC service report, your orders and your DD-214s, with the published rules. It produces a dated report: what your records show, what the rule says, the arithmetic in between, and the document that settles each item.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't correct your record or file anything for you. Your personnel center, your unit and DFAS make corrections and official determinations.
  • It doesn't predict what DFAS, a personnel center or a correction board will decide.
  • It doesn't help with a VA claim.
  • It doesn't tell you which survivor plan option, retirement date or pay start date to choose.
  • It never asks for a CAC, a password or a login to any government system.

Your part

  • Upload only your own records, or records you have the right to share.
  • The check works from the records you provide. A missing order or a missing page means a missing check, and the report lists what it needed and didn't get.
  • Take the report to the people who can confirm or correct each item: your unit personnel section, your retirement services officer, your personnel center or DFAS.

Limits

The check applies the rules listed on What we check and, for now, reads Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard records. A finding is a reason to ask about an item, not a determination that it's wrong. A record can be wrong in ways no document you provide shows, and rules change after a report is dated, so each report states its date and the editions of the rules it used.

Price and refunds

You'll see the price before you pay. Payments go through our payment processor, so we never see or store your full card number. If the check turns out not to cover your records, or we can't produce your report, we'll refund what you paid.

Accuracy and liability

We cite a primary source for every rule and date what we publish, but we can't promise that the site or a report is free of errors or complete for your situation. To the extent the law allows, the site and the records check are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and our total liability for any claim about a records check is limited to what you paid for it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and the terms in effect when you pay for a records check apply to that check.
