MyRecordReview is an independent service. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Department of Defense, the Department of the Air Force, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), the Department of Veterans Affairs or any other government agency. Agency, form and system names appear only to identify the documents and rules we describe.

Official determinations

Your personnel center, your unit personnel section and DFAS make the official determinations. The site and the records check say what the published rules require and what a record does or doesn't show. They never say what DFAS, a personnel center or a correction board will decide.

Estimates and assumptions

Retired pay figures are estimates computed from published pay tables and the rules cited. Your actual pay depends on your official record and the rates in effect when your pay begins. Any projection states its assumptions and isn't a forecast.

Examples

The worked examples and the example report on this site use an illustrative member and record, not a real person's file. Any resemblance to a real person, unit or record is coincidental.

Scope

The guides cover rules that apply across the Guard and Reserve. Where a service's own rule applies, such as for DD-214s and awards, the examples and the records check follow the Air Force rule. Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard rules can differ.

Rules change

Laws and regulations change. Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed and the editions it relies on. If you find something out of date, write to hello@myrecordreview.com.
